day two - trial.

SHIP-TRAP day two

36 players remaining

The bell rings for dinner at 6PM, and you're lead to that familiar door once again. The door opens with a sensation of warm, humid air, and there's the sight of a open staircase winding down. Ivan ushers you into an open cave before she locks the door after everyone. A large table is inexplicably set for as many places as there are people. You'll find dinner already set (though those that requested something else will receive that), and for those that have already were killed on previous days, you'll find their meal replaced with a framed portrait sketched in pencil.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can approach a table in a room to the side and write your vote before placing it in an ornate box. When you place your vote, there's the sound of a deep bell tolling. When you return to your place at the table, you'll find a glass of port waiting for you.

You have until 9PM to discuss and vote for who you think The General is.

So you're basically saying to kill him ourselves so the General doesn't?

[What the heck Hinata doesn't understand this at all.]

Which...would be the crueler death?

[LET'S BE REAL HERE, THAT BODY WAS PRETTY NASTY]

...That depends on the Hunter, I guess. But even if we all vote for him, then someone's going to have to kill an innocent man.

Or, well... [based on Bols' description of himself,] someone who hasn't done anything on this island.
unrulyprincess: (Thou froward ill-nurtured puttock!)

... Could you do it, if you were forced to?

[Clarine doesn't know if she could.

Even to save her own life.]

Even if he begged you to?

...

[This is the second time he's been asked that question today, and he still doesn't have an answer for that.

Have some ellipses, Clarine.]

[do they make little "ping ping ping" noises like FE ellipses.]

... I do not know either.

[No, they're very quiet pip pip pip noises.]

I just... I don't want to die. I just want to go back to my ordinary life.

[Said quietly. It's not private by any stretch, but he's not addressing the group as a whole (for once) either.]
unrulyprincess: (Thou impertinent dizzy-eyed vassal!)

I believe that is the case for all of us... and in that case, there is only one answer to that question, is there not?

[When it's kill or be killed...well, Clarine is a soldier.

She's pretty sure she knows what she'd do.]
