day six - trial.
SHIP-TRAP day six ![]() 15 players remaining The bell rings for dinner at 6PM, and you're lead to that familiar door once again. The door opens with a sensation of warm, humid air, and there's the sight of a open staircase winding down. Ivan ushers you into an open cave before she locks the door after everyone. A large table is inexplicably set for as many places as there are people. You'll find dinner already set (though those that requested something else will receive that), and for those that have already were killed on previous days, you'll find their meal replaced with a framed portrait sketched in pencil. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can approach a table in a room to the side and write your vote before placing it in an ornate box. When you place your vote, there's the sound of a deep bell tolling. When you return to your place at the table, you'll find a glass of port waiting for you. You have until 9PM to discuss and vote for who you think The General is. character statuses character profiles graveyard Voting will close at 9 PM EST on 8/28. Voting |

It would be easier for everyone to vote for her if they had a guilty verdict from one. I've seen how everyone votes, my word alone won't be enough to convince you. It's all I have though. [ He's smiling again! ] I could have lied and said a fox found her guilty. I'd prefer to be honest though.
I'll give you the first reason. Matt seems to be working his way up to saying it anyway, but I might as well say it myself. Rei's made it clear she's played a game like this one before. A textual game, but a game of deceit and lies nonetheless. If you become used to spotting lies and deceiving others, you should have a few ideas when someone nearby is lying to you. I asked Rei myself a few nights ago, she said she hasn't noticed anything odd about anyone. She could be bad at the game, but...
When I asked her who she suspected, she didn't have a clue. Having a guess that's wrong wouldn't be suspicious, it'd mean she was poor at the game she's been playing. But having no guess at all is a little strange. Especially when she's tried to keep herself involved in events. She should some have some input, some opinions, but she doesn't seem to.

What I found odd was her bringing up the possibility of the Gunsmith role, quite specifically, then suggesting strongly that the Gunsmith publicly reveal themselves to get protection from the Rainsford. I don't doubt she's played a phone version of this game, but that was oddly specific.

It's a rather common role in mafia games. This game seemed similar to that, so I thought that might be the case. Since the gunsmith role is generally deemed as an "innocent", claiming a role aloud like that is usually a good idea early on to get protection.
It's... a strategy that's commonly used.

There's a few other things that have been bothering me, Rei. When the votes were down to Sephiroth, Souza, and Bols, you insisted you would attempt prevent a three-way tie, despite having no way to do that. And you refused to reveal who you would vote for.
In the end, you voted for yourself, which would not prevent a tie or reveal your vote. Can you explain this?

[ She says this solemnly, knitting her brows together. ] Of course, it would be good to have it used on the Foxes. But nobody would admit to being one, right..? It would be too risky.
As for why I voted for myself and didn't say anything about it was because I didn't want anybody else to vote for me. I didn't want that to happen. Is that... wrong?

Not at all. But I don't see the logic behind it - how would voting for yourself prevent a tie? Why would someone vote for you if you didn't offer?

You're wrong about that. Early on, I could have done it. If I didn't promise Hajime-kun. I have nothing left to lose.

You just said you didn't reveal your intentions to vote for yourself because you didn't want others to vote for you. Early on.

[Having that said...] That still doesn't explain your actions.

[ Especially with this happening. ] I'm sorry if it doesn't...

There's something else, Rei. I overheard you talking to Gi-ne before her execution. Can you explain your change in demeanor, as well as the comment about the eye? You were "barking up the wrong tree", apparently?

[AND....] As far as I know, that pattern has ceased entirely.
