day six - trial.

SHIP-TRAP day six

15 players remaining

The bell rings for dinner at 6PM, and you're lead to that familiar door once again. The door opens with a sensation of warm, humid air, and there's the sight of a open staircase winding down. Ivan ushers you into an open cave before she locks the door after everyone. A large table is inexplicably set for as many places as there are people. You'll find dinner already set (though those that requested something else will receive that), and for those that have already were killed on previous days, you'll find their meal replaced with a framed portrait sketched in pencil.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can approach a table in a room to the side and write your vote before placing it in an ornate box. When you place your vote, there's the sound of a deep bell tolling. When you return to your place at the table, you'll find a glass of port waiting for you.

You have until 9PM to discuss and vote for who you think The General is.

No, he wasn't. She could have voted for herself again, or she could have voted for Kasen the way Gi-ne did.

But... The only reason to vote for Kasen was because he accused Gi-ne. That's even weaker than the reason for Tsurumaru, isn't it? And then it would just be a repeat of the mistake everyone made with Sephiroth instead of the one everyone made with Yamato.

And... she told me she promised someone she wouldn't vote for herself anymore. She said too that she wants to stop, umm, running away, too, and start really trying to find the General. So... I think it makes sense.

[ He's pretty much in the same boat there himself, after all. ]

I think we might have a different perspective on why she could have voted in other ways. I wasn't thinking she had to vote to try and execute someone, I was thinking she could have voted to abstain from making a decision. If she voted for Kasen, it wouldn't have been to kill him. It would have been because he was a safe vote given no one believed he was guilty.

If everyone found it suspicious or not, I can't say. I personally wouldn't have faulted her for it. I don't fault anyone for voting for someone they know is a minority, like themselves or Ivan.

Do you really think she's trying to find the General though?

I do. That's why she didn't vote the way you think she should have, after all. Voting to avoid making a decision isn't helping anyone at this point. That's why I'm not doing it anymore, either.
double_x: looking over shoulder (i know that sounds kind of mean)

You're a little wrong. I never said how she "should have" voted. [ Different words, different intents. He meant purely that she had options. ] I think she had more options than you're saying, but I can understand now why you don't think she did. If she couldn't vote for herself, if she didn't think Gi-ne was guilty, and if she didn't want to vote for Kasen then it makes sense that she would go for Tsurumaru.

And I want to point out that I can only judge her based on the behavior patterns I've noticed. I'm not going to see everything, and just like I could be missing something, there will be guesses that could be reading too much into some of her actions.

I made it a point to say none of this was to be taken as proof. Most of have I have to say are tiny things that have built up over time.

[ Interjecting here, quietly, but, ]

I wouldn't have voted for myself. I told Hajime-kun that he could vote for me if he was being indecisive too, yesterday. I thought Tsurumaru-san was a more... viable option.

[Calmly, as he keeps any direct accusation out of his tone:]

Why would you have told him to waste his vote if you yourself refused to vote meaninglessly?
dolosa: (◎ struggling; wandering)

...

He did the same for me. Even if my own vote would be meaningless, I wanted to return the favor... especially when he was like that.
