day two - trial.
SHIP-TRAP day two ![]() 36 players remaining The bell rings for dinner at 6PM, and you're lead to that familiar door once again. The door opens with a sensation of warm, humid air, and there's the sight of a open staircase winding down. Ivan ushers you into an open cave before she locks the door after everyone. A large table is inexplicably set for as many places as there are people. You'll find dinner already set (though those that requested something else will receive that), and for those that have already were killed on previous days, you'll find their meal replaced with a framed portrait sketched in pencil. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can approach a table in a room to the side and write your vote before placing it in an ornate box. When you place your vote, there's the sound of a deep bell tolling. When you return to your place at the table, you'll find a glass of port waiting for you. You have until 9PM to discuss and vote for who you think The General is. character statuses character profiles graveyard Voting will close at 11 PM EST on 8/12. Voting |

[She's acting mad, and she's trying to look mad, but her voice wavers, so really she's closer to just really, really upset.]
All we are doing is yelling and yelling, and we are nowhere closer to making any sort of sensible decision. [she's eyeballing you, Sephiroth and Souza and Bols. Stop that.]
It is giving me a headache! [At least she's using her massive sense of entitlement for......something. A something.]
Now--what have we truly learned to use as information from which to decide? As well--what options are you truly considering voting for? I am not interested in the pointing of fingers without a proper explanation...!
[Someone please help her, because she's quickly growing too distressed over this whole thing....... in all honesty, she's really scared the trial is going to end up like yesterdays, and two innocent people will die.]

There's never going to be any proof or a safe vote. There will only be speculation, finger pointing, and intuition.

That's all there is to go on, other than people pointing fingers at each other. [ Royce sniffs at the port in the glass, and sets it down. Gross. Not Montemorcey, not drinking it. ]

It is better than nothing, I suppose... I am still not certain what to make of this, but making accusations without even beginning to explain yourself seems...
[well, pointless.]

[ Kasen hums thoughtfully, then crosses his arms as he tucks them into their opposite sleeves. ]
I think we have at least decided it was likely the work of one of our swordsmen, which is not something I can disagree with. From Miss Max's photographs, I would say it would almost have to be. Those cuts were quite clean, and so were the work of someone familiar with where the joints of the body are, and how to use a sword correctly to... this effect.
[ He murmurs the last part awkwardly since still, what the fuck ]
However, I strongly disagree with Sephiroth's line of reasoning. Accusations based on behavior may be fair normally, but we do not know the character of The General at all. They could hide by being quiet, but they could also hide by being particularly vocal, I believe.
[ He glances to Souza, then sighs a little again. ]
...In any case, I do not believe it is Souza. As you can see, I believe if he were responsible, he would accept it quite readily. That is simply his way. [ where's saniwa they need babysitters to not take themselves out good lord ]
Unless our Foxes got particularly lucky and managed to find The General on their first night, I doubt we will have any more to go off of than this. Which I should say, if that is the source of Sephiroth's convictions, then I will write a poem of apology for my lack of trust, but because of how inelegant of a solution this is to inform us, I also do not believe that he is.

no, focus, Clarine.]
...Yes, I do agree... if nothing else, his friends are quite vocal in their defense of him, and I cannot... I cannot in good faith disregard such belief in their comrade. [Your comrade, really.]
Besides, accusations like this are--are quite crude! But accusing Sephiroth in turn... I do not know if that is fair either.

But in any case, the move Sephiroth made is kind of a smart one. Your first thought might be that throwing Souza under the bus is suspicious. But if you go about it from the angle that he might be the Fox, even if he hasn't directly said it or not...well, it makes it that much harder to act on that suspicion. You don't want to take away a potential edge you have, even if he's not our edge at all.
That's why I said the move was cute.

I have answered this quite enough.
Clarine, when the time to vote comes, how will you choose? What 'evidence' will you use? What 'explanation' will you have for your choice?

That is...it is disgraceful!

I like, think Kasen's right. Those cuts definitely looked like they were from someone who knew what they were doing, but I totally agree that this sort of thing isn't like Souza at all.

[ Again, if he was smart and not just a hapless idiot. Kamui doesn't want to say all this, but someone has to. ]
Which means by now the General also knows he's not an important role and that... narrows down the list for them. [ As far as he's concerned a generic role only exists for body count and to insure a measure of mystery to the identity of the more important roles. Thus, this makes him useless now. ] If he's not voted off, then he'll become a beacon of hope - practically a confirmed ally. How many of you would consider discussing sensitive information with him then? I'd guess at least a few, and that will give us an advantage.
[ Naturally, the General wouldn't want that. ]
If the General doesn't kill him to stop that, then I'd call them a fool. Either way, this man is likely dead.

I have no taste for those who would throw their lives away meaninglessly. They're all a bunch of fools.
[ He hasn't decided yet, either, in other words.
FE politics are usually pretty clear about who the bad guy is, man, they're not cut out for this shit.]no subject
Oh... Lord Hector, there is no need to be so crude either.
[COME ON NOW at least try to make friends]
We must...decide on something so, I-- there must be an answer of sorts, I refuse to believe otherwise.

There's too little evidence to find out a good solution. And it's possible that what was done to Ema-san's body... was done after she was dead, and not before. We don't know the actual cause of death, either.
All of this could just be throwing us off, and I— I hate it. [ She's shaking, trembling actually. ]
Nobody can vote logically because there's not much to go by except for people's actions— their words. It's all psychological because the odds are too high when it comes to voting off an innocent person.

What would you usually go off at this point, Hazama? In your mobile game.

... I do not know what to do. But-- I intend to take responsibility for my actions...t-this time, I cannot possibly resign an innocent person to death randomly.
[She can't abstain.
So she has to vote.]

It's a problem. This whole thing boils down to who you trust and gut feelings. People trying to fucking outplay each other and signing their own goddamn death warrants in the process.
We don't know where to turn, but we can't abstain again.

[ that's not to say he's fishing blindly. All their evidence lies in each other - and their words. ]
But if you ask me, picking out someone random to turn everyone against is the most suspicious thing of all. Have you thought about that?

Nonetheless... I believe you are right... at least, as much as I can tell.

You're right. This is the completely wrong way to go about this - we can't condemn any of these men without any evidence.
Unfortunately, we may not have a choice, for the time being. For now, we all need to keep a cool head.

To him, she will ask quietly, voice plaintive:]
... What are we going to do...? There is not enough evidence.
